How I Packed for a 5-Day Trip in Just My BEIS Summer Tote

You know how much I love traveling light, and for my latest trip—a 5-day, 4-night adventure—I challenged myself to pack everything I needed into just my personal item bag. Yep, you read that right! No checked luggage, no full-size carry-on—just my trusty BEIS Summer Tote.

Why the BEIS Summer Tote?

This tote is an absolute game-changer. It’s stylish, functional, and holds more than you'd expect! I love that it has multiple compartments to keep everything organized, and the sleek design means I don’t have to sacrifice style for practicality. Plus, it fits perfectly under the seat in front of me, so there’s no overhead bin hassle.

What’s in My Tote?

Here’s a peek at how I managed to pack smart without overpacking:

  1. Clothing: The key here is versatility! I packed a few lightweight outfits that I could mix and match for different occasions—think day trips, dinners, and lounging. A couple of dresses, a pair of shorts, and my go-to comfy sandals fit easily into the tote. For a trip this length, I focused on outfits that don’t wrinkle easily and could be dressed up or down.

  2. Toiletries: I stick to the essentials and use travel-size containers for skincare, makeup, and toiletries. Everything fits neatly into my small toiletry bag. Pro tip: try using multi-use products, like a tinted moisturizer with SPF, to save space!

  3. Accessories: A hat, sunglasses, and my CALPAK water bottle holder were must-haves for this trip. I also packed a scarf, which doubles as an accessory or a cozy cover-up on chilly flights.

  4. Tech Essentials: My phone, charger, earbuds, and a portable charger slipped right into the tote’s interior pockets. BEIS knows how to design a bag that makes organization effortless.

  5. In-Flight Essentials: I always keep a few things within easy reach—lip balm, snacks, hand sanitizer, and a reusable water bottle. The BEIS Summer Tote has a side pocket that makes grabbing these items during the flight super convenient.

Packing Tips

  1. Roll, Don’t Fold: Rolling my clothes helped save space and reduce wrinkles. Plus, it allowed me to see everything at a glance when I opened the bag.

  2. Use Packing Cubes: Even though I was only using a tote, packing cubes helped keep everything organized and easy to find.

  3. Maximize the Pockets: The BEIS tote has plenty of pockets, and I used them all. Keeping my accessories, toiletries, and tech items separate made it easy to find what I needed without digging around.

Why I Love Traveling Light

Packing light not only saves time at the airport, but it also makes the trip itself more enjoyable. No lugging heavy bags around or waiting for checked luggage. And trust me, once you get the hang of it, you’ll wonder why you ever packed more!

So, next time you’re heading out for a short getaway, give this a try! The BEIS Summer Tote is my new go-to for trips like this, and I’m sure you’ll love it too.
